TIAN began as a four-year project funded by the National Science Foundation. The project was a collaboration between the Center for Literacy Studies at the University of Tennessee and TERC, a non-profit educational organization in Cambridge, MA.
The original TIAN project was co-developed by TERC and the Center for Literacy Studies at the University of Tennessee, and was funded by the National Science Foundation.
