Project AIM represents an ongoing teacher professional development effort to promote and support the communication of meaningful mathematical content to students from a variety of backgrounds. A key component of the professional development is to apply concepts from literacy education in an effort to increase and support classroom discourse around mathematics. AIM-ED takes Project AIM from its development phase to a more rigorous examination of its efficacy. SEEC evaluators are collaborating with the Project AIM team to support their quasi-experimental and experimental studies of AIM’s impact on teacher and student learning, and to provide feedback regarding the scaling up and dissemination of the AIM program.
