Creating a Virtual Infrastructure for Engaging Rural Youth in STEM Disciplines

This project builds on Network Maine’s extensive infrastructure, and its partnership with ThoughtSTEM, to develop and provide STEM and computer science learning opportunities for middle school students and teachers in both formal (classroom) and informal (after school) settings. Specifically, these opportunities come via LearnToMod modifications of the game Minecraft, and its rich digital learning environment. SEEC's evaluation of this project focuses on identifying and assessing the impact of professional development supports for teachers and after school providers, as well as program implementation and sustainability.
