Encouraging Exploration and Inquiry

In this module, participants will explore a different approach to facilitating learning outcomes for visitors at exhibits: focusing on exploration, reasoning, and inquiry, rather than the communication of facts and knowledge. Participants will develop their skills at noticing how families engage in reasoning and inquiry as they work on an exhibit activity and will identify and practice strategies for supporting open-ended investigations. Before launching this module, be sure to review the tips and background information for session leaders in the full guide.
