Phenology calendar: Multiple species

Value of data: Phenological data are being taken on a wide range of species across the continent and the world. More and more such data are being brought together by the National Phenology Network, in their Nature's Notebook. Thus, even your first year's data can been compared with data collected by others to look for trends and insights. As your site collects data from successive years, you will also be able to look for trends in your area.  As you share the data with Manomet scientists, they will help you think about how to analyze it. Finally, phenology data can also be useful in explaining climate change effects to others.

Estimated time required:

5 periods or more, plus student observations

Research questions:

When do the phenological features appear?

How do they compare to other measurements — in other locales, and in prior years?
